Holly-Hunter

Holly Hunter, an American film and actress, is renowned for her roles in movies such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. The actress has received several awards for her work and has even won an Oscar. Actresses have a long career of involvement in Broadway as well as Off-Broadway productions. From the time she was a child she's been passionate in the field of acting. She was Helen Keller as a fifth-grade student in a school play. Following a bout of Mumps, she was deaf on one side of her ear. But, it didn't stop her from pursuing her dream to become an actor. While in college, she took classes in theatre as well as later moving from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to New York City in pursuit of her dreams. She was introduced to Beth Henley in an elevator and they collaborated to make Broadway Crimes of the Heart, Hunter's first film. When she moved to Los Angeles she tried to obtain film roles and was offered an acting role as a support on Swing Shift. Her work spans over 30 years, and she's been featured in many TV movies, films and series. Holly Hunter won a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and also the Women in Film Lucy Award.
